Defender - chassis repair and restoration works

Approaching nearly 30 years, the aging Land Rover (Defender 110 County, Station Wagon, 300Tdi) required substantial repairs. Reliable for two decades, it served faithfully despite never residing in a garage due to its size. Rust, a common issue, needed attention.

Traversing mountain roads and wilderness year-round, the surprisingly resilient rear chassis, typically prone to rust, demanded comprehensive reinforcement with a sturdier 3 mm metal sheet. Sections were cut and replaced, surpassing the original cross member and extensions in dimensions. Assisted by a son and a friend for the final welding, company at home was provided by pets throughout the process.
